Obsession
The human soul and body can be possessed by an unsettled witch, henchman, or demon, and in both cases the person is to blame for the possession. Nothing comes for nothing and everything has a reason.
An undead witch, if she did not have time to pass the devils, will cling to "native blood", and only in that case, if the soul of a native person is potentially similar to the soul of a witch, i.e. has the same unprocessed vices. Together with the witch's soul, a host of derelict devils falls upon the person, the character and behavior of the person changes, vices are aggravated and if no attempts are made to heal, the most common ending is psychiatry and, in the end, suicide.

The worst continuation of the situation comes when a person who has lived his life with the soul of a dead witch that has filled him dies a natural death himself - then the witch's soul acquires more power and experience of another's soul life, it becomes stronger, wiser and may well be called a Prizhivnik. A Prizhivnik is already a separate species, dangerous, cold, vengeful, and clever. Jumping from body to body over native blood, he gains experience, sheds his weaknesses, and cultivates his witchcraft abilities.

Most often, a Prizhivnik appears in a family when there is a dying witch and a sick child. This moment happens more imperceptibly, no one notices the substitution of an infant's soul, but everyone is surprised to realize that the sick child has miraculously recovered, gotten stronger, but the witch has died.
Once I had the opportunity to communicate with a very strong prizhivshego, who at the time was a 25-year-old boy, who everyone thought was autistic, and yes, the diagnosis was. A more frank, cold and intelligent text I had never heard from anyone. For eight generations, this creature had been gaining strength, gaining experience, honing its abilities. It completely controlled the lives of its loved ones, guided and decided what and who should be and who should not be. The soul of the body it filled was weak and there was no way to help it to get rid of the Prizhivnik - it would be tantamount to death.

Possession by a lower demon is much rarer and here everything is much more interesting and complicated. As a rule, essences of such level fill a person not for nothing. most often such cases occur at sincerely believing people who have committed, in their opinion, a grave sin, that is, it suffers souls who do not give themselves forgiveness. In my memory, there have been several cases in which young girls who had a personal relationship with their priest, believers who had not fulfilled the promises they had made to God, have become possessed. The first and foremost distinguishing feature is incredible strength. A young, frail girl cannot be held by three grown men. The second sign is blasphemous reactions to icons.
The third is self-harm - a man injures himself, bleeds himself, but avoids objects of iron.

A person possessed by an inferior demon will avoid people with strong positive spirits, will become afraid of strong witches, will react to incense and some special herbs. It has always amused me how some unscrupulous priests run from the homes of such possessed people, flashing their heels. But in fact it is simple - in order to help someone who has gone astray, you need to know the way, and not everyone knows the way. Among other things, any positive action to help another must involve knowledge of cause and effect, absolute confidence in the strength of one's soul and a firm desire not to solve a momentary problem, but to change what led to it.
